Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a financial advisor is an important decision. These answers can help you understand who Nadell Wealth serves, what it is like to work together, and whether our approach may be right for you.

Who is Nadell Wealth designed to serve?

Nadell Wealth is designed for successful people in the prime of their careers whose earnings, wealth, and financial responsibilities have grown increasingly complex.

Many of our clients have built meaningful wealth but no longer have the time—or desire—to coordinate every part of their financial lives on their own. They want thoughtful, proactive advice; a clear plan; and a trusted advisor who can help them make the most of what they have worked so hard to build.

Our approach is especially well suited to people who value comprehensive planning, appreciate a long-term relationship, and want their wealth to support a life they genuinely enjoy.

How much money do I need to work with Nadell Wealth?

Nadell Wealth is generally best suited for people with at least $1 million in investable assets or those who are approaching that level through a combination of savings, investments, and continued high earnings.

Asset level is only one consideration, however. The complexity of your financial life, the kind of guidance you want, and whether we are well matched for a long-term relationship matter just as much. An introductory call is the easiest way to determine whether working together makes sense.

How is Nadell Wealth compensated?

We charge an annual advisory fee based on the assets we manage for you, with a minimum annual advisory fee of $10,000. This fee includes comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and ongoing guidance. There is no separate financial planning fee.

Our Process & Pricing page explains the fee schedule and how it is calculated. Before you decide to work with us, we will review what you will pay and what is included.

What does “fee-only fiduciary” mean?

As a fiduciary, Nadell Wealth is obligated to put your interests first when providing advice.

Fee-only means our compensation comes directly from our clients. We do not receive commissions for recommending investments, insurance products, or other financial products. This structure helps keep our advice centered on what we believe is best for you.

What does comprehensive financial planning include?

We help bring the many parts of your financial life into one coordinated plan. Depending on your needs, our work may include:

  • Investment management

  • Cash flow and savings

  • Retirement planning

  • Tax planning

  • Equity compensation

  • Education planning

  • Estate planning coordination

  • Insurance and risk management

  • Charitable giving

  • Career and lifestyle decisions

These decisions rarely exist in isolation. Our role is to help you understand how they connect, evaluate the tradeoffs, prioritize what needs attention, and put recommendations into action.

Our Process & Pricing page provides more detail about each planning area and how we work together.

Can I hire you just for investment management or a one-time financial plan?

No. We work with clients through ongoing relationships that combine comprehensive financial planning and investment management.

Your portfolio decisions should reflect your goals, cash-flow needs, tax situation, and broader financial life. An ongoing relationship allows us to help implement your plan, monitor progress, and adapt as your circumstances and priorities change.

How do you invest client portfolios?

Our investment approach is disciplined, evidence-based, and built for the long term. We design broadly diversified portfolios around your goals, time horizon, ability and willingness to take investment risk, tax situation, and broader financial plan.

Rather than trying to predict short-term market movements or chase investment trends, we focus on diversification, costs, taxes, risk, and maintaining a disciplined approach through changing markets.

We manage your portfolio throughout the year, monitoring investments, rebalancing when appropriate, investing new cash, and managing withdrawals. In taxable accounts, we also look for opportunities to realize investment losses that may help offset taxable gains—a strategy known as tax-loss harvesting. As your circumstances evolve, we adjust your portfolio to keep it aligned with your plan.

Where will my assets be held? Do I still own the accounts?

Charles Schwab serves as the custodian—the institution that holds the accounts and assets managed by Nadell Wealth. You retain ownership of your assets. With your authorization, Nadell Wealth has limited authority to manage investments and place trades in those accounts on your behalf. You can view your holdings, transactions, and other account activity through Schwab Alliance.

During onboarding, we help you open the appropriate Schwab accounts and coordinate the transfer of your existing investments. Many investments can be transferred “in kind,” meaning they move to Schwab without being sold. We review what can be transferred and develop a transition plan that considers your investment strategy and tax situation.

Will I work directly with Matt?

Yes. You will work directly with Matt Nadell throughout the relationship.

Nadell Wealth intentionally limits the number of client relationships so that Matt can provide each client with personal attention, thoughtful preparation, and proactive advice grounded in an understanding of both their financial life and what matters most to them.

Will you work with my CPA, estate-planning attorney, or other professionals?

Yes. Good financial planning often requires coordination across several professionals.

We can work with your existing CPA, attorney, insurance professional, and other advisors to help coordinate recommendations so you do not have to manage every conversation on your own. If you need additional expertise, we can also provide referrals to qualified professionals.

Nadell Wealth does not provide legal or tax-preparation services, but we help identify planning opportunities and coordinate the next steps with the appropriate professionals.

Do you work with clients virtually?

Yes. Meetings are held virtually by Zoom, allowing us to work together conveniently and efficiently wherever you live or work.

Virtual meetings also make it easier to include a spouse, partner, or another professional when helpful, without adding unnecessary travel or disruption to an already busy schedule.

What if my spouse or partner is less involved in our finances?

That is common, and it is an important part of our work. We create a clear, organized financial picture that both partners can understand, even when one person has historically handled most of the decisions.

You do not need to have the same level of interest in finances. Our goal is for each of you to understand the essentials, feel comfortable asking questions, and know whom to call if the person who normally manages the finances is ever unable to do so.

What is the first step?

The first step is a 30-minute introductory call with Matt. We will discuss what prompted you to reach out, what you would like help with, and what you hope an advisory relationship will make possible.

You will have time to learn more about Nadell Wealth and ask questions. If we both believe there may be a good fit, we will explain the next step in the process. There is no pressure and no obligation to move forward.
